Google has recently started inviting Nest customers to switch their Nest accounts to Google Home accounts. If you have integrated your Nest Thermostat with our Keen Home or Ecovent smartphone app, please read the below:
Please refer to Nest’s post for details, but here is how to keep your Nest Thermostat integration working on your Keen Home and Ecovent apps beyond August 31, 2019:
- Do not migrate your Nest account to a Google Home account. Migrating your Nest account will cause Keen Home, Ecovent, and other Works with Nest integrations to be disconnected. This process is not reversible.
- Do not disconnect Nest from your Keen Home/Ecovent app after August 31, 2019 as you will not be able to reconnect it. This affects users that do not migrate their Nest accounts to a Google account.
At Keen Home, we believe that homeowners have the best experience when their smart home products all work together. We will continue to advocate that our users, not companies, should determine how their products, apps, and services can be connected, secured, and controlled.
Again, to avoid any disruptions to your Keen Home/Ecovent - Nest Thermostat integrations, do not convert your Nest account to a Google Home account.
Keen Home will continue to work with Google during this transition and will provide you with updates to ensure the best experience for your Smart Zoning System.
